Good Morning COVID was the first song I ever recorded. I always intended for it to be a stand-alone/promotional single because I felt it didn’t fit with the then-upcoming album.
The song was made to satirically describe the life of an average teenager in lockdown whilst also implying a longing for life pre-COVID.
When I wrote it, I wondered, given how topical the song was, if it would gain any traction. This would be tried and tested when I entered it into the ACMF National Songwriting Competition and it managed to win.
Say what you want, I literally had to go through Mallacoota for this shot :|
