I came up with the idea of Beautiful Day in early 2021 when I was walking around school by myself one day. I had nothing else to do, so, starting to take in my surroundings (if by now you’ve seen the title it’s pretty obvious) I began writing it in my head.
It would take a few months before it was finally perfected lyrically but I made my first recording of it in late August that year. After I got my new guitar in December I re-recorded it; this is the version that was released.
I know it’s a bit of a simple/childish-sounding song, especially now I’ve learnt so much more about songwriting, but I feel like it’s worth keeping it as a single as a result.
